This project is incredibly special to me – my first fully realized Super 8 wedding film.
It’s a project born from a deep love for the raw, authentic beauty of film, a celebration of spontaneity, and a testament to the magic that happens when you embrace imperfection. For this reason, I chose an open gate edit, allowing the natural imperfections of the Super 8 film to shine through. This technique, which forgoes image stabilization, preserves the genuine, organic feel of the footage, transporting you back in time to experience the wedding day as it unfolded. This film is a culmination of so much learning, and I’m beyond excited to embark on the next Super 8 adventure!
This film captures the enchanting wedding of Hallie (@hal_renae) and Jack (@jstud23) amidst the rolling hills of Tuscany at the breathtaking Villa Catureglio (@villacatureglio). Their love story unfolded against this idyllic backdrop, a perfect fusion of romance, elegance, and the timeless charm of the Italian countryside. It was an honor to witness and document their special day, preserving their precious memories on film.

There’s an undeniable magic to Super 8 film. It possesses a unique ability to capture the emotion and atmosphere of a moment in a way that digital video often can’t replicate. The grain, the subtle imperfections, and the organic quality of the film create a nostalgic and romantic feel, adding depth and texture to the wedding film. It’s a medium that truly captures the heart and soul of a celebration. Choosing an open gate edit for this project was a deliberate decision. I wanted to embrace the inherent characteristics of Super 8, allowing the film’s natural imperfections to enhance the beauty and authenticity of the wedding day.
